So…Who am I?

A bit of my own story.

The headline goes something like this: I’m a professional who loves to connect with others, craft and deliver a great story, help business solve problems, and even entertain people a little. And I LOVE voice and audio work.

I know - that sounds like a lot…while also not sounding like a lot. But when I sat down to write my own story - including how I can help you – that blurb emerged as the common thread through all phases of my professional life. Those phases have been diverse, but each uniquely helps me serve as a voice talent, audio engineer / producer, and messaging partner.

My “first career” was in radio broadcasting. My main goal was to connect with each listener on a one-to-one basis, every single time I opened the mic on every station. That meant different approaches across formats with diverse target audiences. I also discovered early on that I enjoyed working in the production studio just as much as being on air. (Think commercials, station promos, produced elements, prepping other recorded content for air, etc.)

After leaving radio due to sweeping industry changes, I was fortunate enough to land in the IT world, leading to a 20-plus-year career - with a significant portion of that in Fortune 100 corporate settings. Much of my IT career was in roles ensuring that business needs were understood and collaboratively met by IT .

The same skills that served me well in radio – understanding a need, crafting and delivering a story, connecting with people, even keeping people entertained (colleagues and team members in this case) – served me exceedingly well in IT. Having lived the corporate life, I was exposed to enough internal communications and e-learning (hello, mandatory annual compliance) to learn what delivery will hit home from the user’s perspective.

In the wake of a major corporate restructuring and some life change, I took time to rejuvenate and to contemplate what was next. The idea for Tony Z Productions came quickly, but taking the plunge took quite a while longer. I couldn’t be happier that I did.

What does all of this mean for you as a client? A professional, collaborative approach. Respect for your product or service and its branding. A drive to connect with your targeted listener/recipient - whether a customer via a commercial or explainer video, an employee through training material, prospective client/partner via sales piece, student via e-learning, or something else. And, a commitment to quality.

This work truly is my passion. Let my passion serve your business – which just might be your passion, too.
